Super Saturday 2016

Join us on Saturday, November 5th from 9-3pm for crafts, lunch and fun. Sign-ups will be available to bring a soup or salad for lunch. All money and order forms are due by Sunday, September 25th to Sarah. Unfortunately late orders cannot be accepted. Make checks out to Sarah.

Super Saturday 2015

Super Saturday 2015 is coming! the Relief Society Committee has been hard at work and has some super cute projects for you. Super Saturday will be on Saturday, November 7th from 9am-3pm. Sign up to bring soup or salad to our potluck lunch. 

Projects will be on display on the table outside of the RS room. 

Money and order forms are due to Sarah by Sunday, September 27th. If we do not receive your payment by that date, we regret we will be unable to provide you with supplies. 

A.) Chocolate Candy Cane Cookie Mix in a Jar - $2.50 - Teacher: Crystal
 Layered cookie ingredients (including milk chocolate chips and crushed candy cane) in a quart size mason jar.

You supply: Mixing bowl, whisk, funnel, measuring cups and spoons, apron

B.) Hot Cocoa Mix in a Jar - $3.00 - Teacher: Crystal
Layered cocoa ingredients (including semi sweet mini chocolate chips and mini marshmallows) in a 16 oz. mason jar

You supply: Funnel, measuring cups and spoons, apron

C.) Scrappy Ornament – $1.50 - Teacher: Lori
Plastic bulb ornament, covered with cute scraps of fabric. (metal stand not included)

You supply: some fabric and ribbon available or bring your own to customize

Announcements for Week of 11/16

1)  Month of Temple Blessings. Our goal is to have someone from our ward in the temple every day this month that it is open. Please Contact Brother Jacobs if you are attending

2) Ward Quilt Squares are due to Young Women’s by NEXT SUNDAY, November 23rd.

3) Saturday, November 22nd Chili cook off and ward slide show. 6:00 Please bring a salad, dessert, or of course chili to share. 

4) Saturday, November 22 service opportunity to help set up Nativity on Euclid Avenue…get on…community project.

5)  Ward Choir Rehearsal for Christmas and Thanksgiving, every Sunday 10:15 in the chapel. Stake Choir 5:00  at the stake center getting ready for Stake Conference in January.

6)  Gift Card Drive now through December 7th. This is our opportunity to help those in need in our ward. Please purchase a gift card from a local vendor such as Target, Walmart, K-mart… If you can’t get a gift card but would like to contribute, please use a tithing envelope and check other and state that the contribution is for the Christmas to drive.

7) Upland Crèche festival on December 4,5, and 6 on the corner of San Antonio and 11th Street.

8) Thursday, December 11th Relief Society Evening Meeting at 7:00. We will be making ornament to give to our sisters and families that we carol to at the Ward Christmas Party. You will be able to make an ornament to take home for your family too.

8) Friday, December 12th, Rancho Cucamonga Stake Living Nativity, Etiwanda Building

9) Saturday, December 13 Ward Christmas Party:

Announcements for Week of 11/9

  • Month of Temple Blessing
    •  The Bishop has set a goal for a member of our ward to attend the temple every day in November. 
    • He would like for each member of our ward who can to attend the temple twice this month: once on Stake Temple Day and on one other day. 
    • Contact Bro. Jacobs to let him know what day(s) you will be able to attend 
  • Stake Temple Day
    •  Friday, November 21st 
    • Please strive to participate in at least one ordinance that day. There are endowment sessions, initiatories, and sealing sessions available. 
    • The schedule is posted on the Ward Facebook Page.
    • ontact Bro. Terrill, Bro. Thompson, or Bro. Schemmel to sign up. . 
  • Ward Quilt
    • Continue to work on your square for the ward quilt. 
    • The Young Women would like to collect them by Sunday, November 23rd. 
    • Contact one of the Young Women if you still need a square to represent your family. 
  • Annual Ward Slideshow and Chili Cook-Off
    • Saturday, November 22nd at 6pm
    • Photo submissions for the slideshow are due to Alex Youngberg were due Sunday. 
    • Please bring chili, salad, or a dessert. 
    • Signups are also available to help bring toppings for the chili. 
  • Service Project - Nativity Set-up on Euclid Ave. 
    • Saturday, November 22nd from 7-11am
    • Help with other churches in the community to put up the beautiful life-size Nativity display on Euclid Avenue.

  • Ward Choir
    •  Every Sunday at 10:15 in the chapel
    • Come use your voice to help sing praises. 
    • The choir will be signing for Thanksgiving and Christmas. 
  • Priesthood/RS Books for 2015
    • To save money, in as many cases as possible, we are requested to use our tablets and smart phones to access the new manual for next year: Teachings of Ezra Taft Benson. 
    •  If you requested a printed copy of the manual - they have arrived. 
    • Contact Bro. Eric Francis to get your copy. 
  •  Holiday Gift Card Drive
    • DI will be moving to a new location and will not have as much room so their former DI Toy Drive has been canceled.
    • As a Stake we are being asked to have Gift Card Drive for our ward. This is a chance to donate towards families in need in our ward. 
    •  If you are able, you can donate gift cards, in any amount, that will be distributed under the direction of the Bishop, to help families within our ward have a merry Christmas. 
    • You can donate a gift card to any location, but retail stores with multiple departments would be most helpful. Ex. Walmart, Target, Kmart. 
    • Please give your donations to Sarah or to a member of the bishopric. 
    • If you would like to donate money directly - use a donation slip and envelop and mark OTHER and write Christmas gift cards next to it and give it to a member of the Bishopric. 
  • Temple Lights- Sunday, December 14, at 5:00
    • Meet at the church to carpool
    • Bring a treat to share
    • Come enjoy the Christmas lights at the Los Angeles Temple. Hot cocoa will be provided.
